Mémorial de Verdun

A World-Renowned Site of Remembrance

The Verdun Memorial is a Public Cultural Cooperation Establishment dedicated to preserving and promoting the historical legacy of the Battle of Verdun. It manages the Verdun Memorial, Fort Douaumont, and Fort Vaux, and leads educational, cultural, and tourism initiatives on the Verdun battlefield. Originally opened in 1967 to honor WWI veterans, the museum was fully renovated and reopened in 2016 with a modern, immersive exhibit focusing on the experience of soldiers—both French and German.

Key challenges

Given the deep emotional connection many visitors have to the site, the Memorial aims to offer a truly meaningful and high-quality visitor experience. To do so, the team needed a solution that would allow them to:

  • Track visitor satisfaction using detailed surveys and key performance indicators like the Net Promoter Score (NPS)
  • Collect structured qualitative feedback to better understand evolving visitor expectations
  • Extend the visit experience by delivering tailored educational content via post-visit email marketing
  • Build deeper connections by inviting visitors to share personal or family stories related to the Battle of Verdun

Since 2022, the Verdun Memorial has partnered with GuestViews to strengthen visitor relationships and enhance engagement across all its sites.
